Tracy Blue is an enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. He started his career as a therapeutic counselor. In addition to working as a counselor and educator, he has been involved in the horseracing industry since childhood. Obtaining a doctorate has always been a goal, and working with the faculty and advisors at the University of Oregon is a dream come true. His current research interests are working with indigenous urban and rural populations that are at-risk for limited success in academics and life, precursors to life altering negative health outcomes such as suicide, and professional development and policy development for more culturally responsive approaches to our interventions especially for our special needs young people.
